Contract bottling and private label
For spirits brands from India and abroad that want to produce in India without building or licensing a plant of their own. Tahmar works as your co-packer, or makes the liquid for you.

Also called co-packing or contract manufacturing
Your liquid, our plant. You send your bulk spirit or concentrate, such as malt whisky, rum or brandy. We blend it to your recipe, reduce, fill and pack it under bond at Beradwadi, and you sell it as your brand.
Private label and white label
Our liquid, your brand
No recipe of your own? We make the liquid from our grain spirit and blends, and bottle it under your brand. A private label blend is made for you alone; a white label product is a ready Tahmar blend that you sell under your own name.

Enter the Indian market
Every Indian state runs its own excise system. We give an overseas brand one partner for the whole of India: in Maharashtra directly, and in every other state through our associates.
- Market check
We look at your range against each state's price slabs and taxes, and tell you where to launch first and which pack sizes and price points can work.
- Bottle here or import finished
Finished imports and bottling in India are taxed differently. We set out both routes so you can compare the landed cost.
- Registration
Label and brand registration with the Excise department of every state you sell in, and the paperwork that comes with it, handled by our team and our associates.
- Production
Your bulk spirit or concentrate is blended and bottled under bond at Beradwadi, or at an associate plant closer to the market, to your specification and your quality checks.
- Route to market
Distributors, wholesalers and state corporations in each market, so the brand reaches shelves across India.

Tahmar is building a distribution network that reaches every district of Maharashtra. In each district we appoint one partner for Indian Made Foreign Liquor and Maharashtra Made Liquor, and one for country liquor, so that every distributor has a clear territory and our full attention. Our terms are simple and built to reward growth: a fair margin on every case, an incentive for meeting targets, and orders supplied against advance payment, so neither side carries the risk of credit. You do not need years in the liquor trade to join us. What matters is knowledge of your district, sound finances and the drive to build a business alongside ours.
Questions
What is the difference between contract bottling and private label?
In contract bottling, also called co-packing, the liquid and the recipe are yours and we bottle them. In private label or white label, the liquid is ours and the brand is yours: we make the spirit and blend, and bottle it under your name.
Can you bottle imported bulk spirit, such as Scotch whisky?
Yes. Bulk spirit imported into India can be blended and bottled at our plant, subject to customs clearance and the State Excise permits for each consignment, which we arrange with you.
Is there a minimum order?
We plan production in batches and agree the minimum run with each partner, based on pack sizes and dry goods. Tell us your expected yearly volumes and we will propose a schedule.
Do we need our own licence to have a brand bottled by Tahmar?
The product is made under Tahmar's licence. The brand owner registers the brand and labels with State Excise, and we prepare and file that registration with you.
Can you blend to our specification from your own spirit?
Yes. We distil grain neutral spirit at the plant and can blend to your recipe, or work with spirit you ship in.
When can production start?
